On Saturday, September 20th, the Bay Ridge Center will host its 20th annual Walk-A-Thon. This event is held annually to raise funds to support the Bay Ridge Center’s programs, including home delivered meals to the elderly in our community.

STREET SEATS PROGRAM FOR MERCHANTS
If you want a Street Seat this summer, now is the time to apply.
The Street Seats program is an opportunity for ground-floor businesses to install Street Seats – small, seasonal, temporary public spaces installed against the curb in front of their establishments (see photo, below).

The NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) accepts applications for Street Seats throughout the year, but it’s important to move your application forward now: it will start getting warm soon (believe it or not!), and you don’t want to miss out on good weather. Also, you have to get on your community board’s agenda as soon as possible. If you’re interested in setting up a Street Seat, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you know of a business that might be interested in Street Seats, please forward this email.
More information about the application process, along with a full list of technical criteria and design guidelines, is available at www.nyc.gov/streetseats. It takes time to get the appropriate approvals and permits, as well as actually to build a Street Seat, but we can help expedite your application.
