Founded in 2006, the Bay Ridge 5th Avenue Business Improvement District is the largest BID in Brooklyn, New York, covering from the areas of 65th Street to 85th Street.

A not-for-profit corporation, the Bay Ridge 5th Avenue B.I.D. is funded through special assessments collected from property owners located within its boundaries. The focus of the B.I.D. is to improve conditions by providing additional sanitation, security, beautification and capital improvements.

Its day-to-day-operations are managed by a board of directors and officers elected by the District Management Association, a voluntary organization made of property owners, commercial and residential tenants in the area, as well as representatives of elected officials, and under the auspices of the New York City Department of Small Business Services.
